I’ve recently replaced my bike to commute to work, the new bike came with disk brakes. I have to say for reliability of stopping with pedestrians or animals around, or drivers not paying full attention I don’t think I’d go back to rim brakes…
Hi Ben. Occasional or not it's just a case of how quickly you want to break I guess. If it's wet and you need to stop suddenly then you'll always be better off with discs. Both my bikes are rims due to how old they are. Any future bike for me will always be disc. Having ridden on them in Majorca its a no brainer for me on any future bike I buy (without Mrs. P knowing obviously! 😉)
